From this [time] many of His disciples turned back and no longer would walk with Him.

But Simon Peter answered Him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.

Then Jesus said to those Jews who had believed Him, "If you abide in My word, truly you are My disciples.

strengthening the souls of the disciples, urging [them] to continue in the faith, [saying], "Through many tribulations we must enter into the kingdom of God."

But the just shall live by faith, and if he withdraws, My soul has no pleasure in him."

But we are not of [those] shrinking back to destruction, but of faith, to the saving of the soul.

They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but [they went out] in order that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us.

And receive a declaration from His mouth, and lay up His words in your heart.

The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever and ever: the judgments of the Lord are true, [and] justified altogether.

To be desired more than gold, and much precious stone; sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

I have hidden Your oracles in my heart, that I might not sin against You.

How sweet are Your oracles to my taste! More so than honey to my mouth!

Therefore have I loved Your commandments more than gold, or topaz.

Consume them, and Your word shall be to me for the joy and gladness of my heart. For Your name has been called upon me, O Lord Almighty.

But He said to them, "I have food to eat of which you do not know."

Jesus said to them, "My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.

as newborn babes, desire the genuine milk of the word, that by it you may grow,

And the Lord said, "Who then is a faithful and wise steward, whom his master will make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of food in due season?

the master of that servant will come on a day which he does not expect, and at an hour which he does not know, and he will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.
