For when he shall seem to be established, then he shall utterly perish, and those that knew him shall say, Where is he?

The eye of him that sees me shall not see me again: your eyes are upon me, and I am no more.

And he shall surely not return to his own house, neither shall his place know him any more.

If [God] should destroy him, his place shall deny him. Have you not seen such things,

verily, while my breath is yet in me, and the breath of God which remains to me is in my nostrils,

And yet a little while, and the sinner shall not be, and you shall seek for his place, and shall not find [it].

Yet I passed by, and lo! He was not; and I sought him, but his place was not found.

[As for] man, his days are like grass; as a flower of the field, so shall he flourish.

For the wind passes over it, and it shall not be; and it shall know its place no more.
