There was a certain man in the land of Uz, whose name [was] Job; and that man was true, blameless, righteous, and godly, abstaining from everything evil.

And the Lord said to him, Have you diligently considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on [all] the earth, a blameless man, true, godly, abstaining from everything evil?

For though I should seem righteous, my mouth will be profane, and though I should seem blameless, I shall be proved perverse.

[ 6:10] And these are the generations of Noah. Noah was a just man; being perfect in his generation; Noah was well pleasing to God.

Maintain innocence, and behold uprightness; for there is a remnant to the peaceable man.

Not that I have already obtained, or have already been made perfect; but I press on, if also I may lay hold of that for which I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus.

But may the God of all grace, the [One] having called you into His eternal glory in Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a little [while], may He Himself make you complete--He will establish, strengthen, [and] firmly ground [you].

A righteous man escapes from a snare, and the ungodly man is delivered up in his place.

He that walks uprightly fears the Lord, but he that is perverse in his ways shall be dishonored.

The sacrifices of the ungodly are an abomination to the Lord, but the prayers of them that walk honestly are acceptable to Him.

The paths of life turn aside from evil, and the ways of righteousness are length of life. He that receives instruction shall be in prosperity, and he that regards reproofs shall be made wise. He that keeps his ways preserves his own soul, and he that loves his life will spare his mouth.

and said, I myself came forth naked from my mother's womb, and naked shall I return there; the Lord has given, and the Lord has taken away. As it seemed good to the Lord, so has it come to pass; blessed be the name of the Lord.

In all these events that befell him, Job sinned not before the Lord, and did not impute wrong to God.

Though the Mighty One should lay [His] hand upon me, forasmuch as He has begun, verily I will speak, and plead before Him.

Far be it from me that I should justify you till I die! For I will not let go my innocence,

but keeping fast to my righteousness, I will by no means let it go: for I am not conscious to myself of having done anything amiss.

[A Psalm] of David. Judge me, O Lord; for I have walked in my innocence; and hoping in the Lord I shall not be moved.

But You helped me because of [my] innocence, and have established me before You forever.

Blessed is the man who endures temptation; because when he is approved, he shall receive the crown of life which the Lord promised to those who love Him.

so that the genuineness of your faith, which is more precious than gold that perishes, though being tested with fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

But put forth Your hand, and touch all that he has, and he will curse You to [Your] face.

And Joab answered and said, Far be it, far be it from me, that I should ruin or destroy.

Let Him not crush me with a dark storm: but He has made my bruises many without cause.

Jesus answered, "Neither this [man] nor his parents sinned, but so that the works of God should be manifest in him.
