Truly I know it is so, for how shall a mortal man be righteous before the Lord?

For who shall be pure from uncleanness? Not even one;

For how shall a mortal be just before the Lord? Or who that is born of a woman shall purify himself?

But alas! Man is corruption, and the son of man a worm.

[If it be] that they shall sin against You, (for there is not a man who will not sin) and You shall bring them and deliver them up before their enemies, and they that take [them] captive shall carry [them] to a land far or near,

Whereas if they shall sin against You, (for there is no man who will not sin) and You shall smite them, and deliver them up before their enemies, and they that take them captive shall carry them away into a land of enemies, to a land far off or near;

They have all gone out of the way, they have together become corrupt, there is none that does good, no not one. Their throat is an open tomb; with their tongues they have used deceit. The poison of asps is under their lips: whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness; their feet are swift to shed blood: destruction and misery are in their ways; and the way of peace they have not known: there is no fear of God before their eyes.

For behold, I was conceived in iniquities, and in sins did my mother conceive me.

Who will boast that he has a pure heart? Or who will boldly say that he is pure from sins?

For there is not a righteous man in the earth who will do good, and not sin.

But behold, this have I found, that God made man upright; but they have sought out many devices.

That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but [how] to do the good, I do not find.

But the Scripture has confined all under sin, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.

in which you once walked according to the age of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit which is now working in the sons of disobedience,

among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the senses, and were by nature children of wrath, as also the rest.

If we claim that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

If we claim that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.
