And the Lord said to Abram, Go forth out of your land, and out from your family, and out of the house of your father, into the land which I will show you.

And I will make you a great nation, and I will bless you and magnify your name, and you shall be blessed.

Only the Lord chose your fathers, to love them, and He chose out their seed after them, [even] you, beyond all nations, as it is this day.

And Joshua said to all the people, Thus says the Lord God of Israel: Your fathers at first sojourned beyond the river, [even] Terah, the father of Abraham and the father of Nahor; and they served other gods.

And I took your father Abraham from the other side of the river, and I guided him through all the land, and I multiplied his seed;

But you, O Israel, are My servant Jacob, and he whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham, whom I have loved;

whom I have taken hold of from the ends of the earth, and from the high places of it I have called you, and said to you, You are My servant; I have chosen you, and I have not forsaken you.

Look to Abraham your father, and to Sarah who bore you; for he was alone when I called him, and blessed him, and loved him, and multiplied him.

And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot his grandson, the son of Haran, and Sarai his daughter-in-law, the wife of Abram his son, and led them forth out of the land of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan, and they came as far as Haran, and dwelt there.

And He said to him, I am God that brought you out of the land of the Chaldeans, so as to give you this land to inherit.

And he said, "Men, brothers and fathers, listen: The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Haran,

Then he went forth from the land of the Chaldeans and settled down in Haran. And from there, after his father was dead, He moved him to this land in which you now dwell.

And your name shall no longer be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations.
