And Asa cried to the Lord his God, and said, O Lord, it is not impossible with You to save by many or by few: strengthen us, O Lord our God; for we trust in You, and in Your name we have come up against this great multitude. O Lord our God, let not man prevail against You.

And the Lord struck the Ethiopians before Judah, and the Ethiopians fled.

And Judah gathered themselves together to seek after the Lord; even from all the cities of Judah they came to seek the Lord.

And if you should go forth to war against your enemies, and should see a horse and rider, and a people more numerous than yourself; you shall not be afraid of them, for the Lord your God [is] with you, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt.

Hear, O Israel; you are going this day to battle against your enemies: let not your heart faint; fear not, neither be confounded, neither turn aside from their face.

Moses My servant is dead; now then arise, go over the Jordan, you and all this people, into the land which I give them.

The wilderness and Lebanon, as far as the great river, the River Euphrates, and as far as the extremity of the sea; your coasts shall be from the setting of the sun.

[If it be] that Your people shall go forth to war against their enemies in the way by which You shall turn them, and pray in the name of the Lord toward the city which You have chosen, and the house which I have built for Your name,

then shall You hear from heaven their supplication and their prayer, and shall execute judgment for them.

Avenge the wrongs of the children of Israel on the Midianites, and afterwards you shall be added to your people.

Send a thousand of each tribe from all the tribes of the children of Israel to set themselves in array.

And Moses sent them away, a thousand of every tribe with their forces, and Phinehas the son of Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest. And the holy instruments, and the signal trumpets [were] in their hands.

And the Lord said to Joshua, Fear not, nor be dismayed. Take with you all the men of war, and arise, go up to Ai. Behold, I have given into your hands the king of Ai, and his land.

And Joshua and all the men of war rose to go up to Ai; and Joshua chose out thirty thousand mighty men, and he sent them away by night.

Then I and all the people [who are] with me shall draw near to the city. And it shall come to pass when the inhabitants of Ai shall come forth to meet us as before, that we will flee from before them.

And you shall rise up out of the ambush, and go into the city.

And it came to pass after the death of Joshua, that the children of Israel inquired of the Lord, saying, Who shall go up for us first against the Canaanites, to fight against them?

And the Lord said, Judah shall go up: behold, I have delivered the land into his hand.

And now go, and you shall strike Amalek and Hierim and all that belongs to him, and you shall not save anything of his alive, but you shall utterly destroy him. And you shall devote him and all his [to destruction], and you shall spare nothing belonging to him; and you shall slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, calf and sheep, camel and donkey.

And the Lord sent you on a journey, and said to you, Go, and utterly destroy: you shall slay the sinners against Me, even the Amalekites; and you shall war against them until you have consumed them.

And Zerah the Ethiopian went out against them, with a force of a million, and three hundred chariots; and came to Mareshah.

And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, It is the king of Israel. And they compassed him round about to fight against him. And Jehoshaphat cried out, and the Lord delivered him; and God turned them away from him.

And he said, O Lord God of my fathers, are not You God in heaven above, and are not You Lord of all the kingdoms of the nations? And [is there] not in Your hand the might of dominion, and there is no one who can resist You?

And they dwelt in it, and built in it a sanctuary to Your name, saying,

And now, behold, the children of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir, with regard to whom You did not permit Israel to pass through their border, when they had come out of the land of Egypt, (for they turned away from them, and did not destroy them)-

O Lord our God, will You not judge them? For we have no strength to resist this great multitude that has come against us; and we know not what we shall do to them, but our eyes are toward You.

And King Hezekiah and Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz prayed concerning these things, and they cried to heaven.

And the Lord sent an angel, and He destroyed every mighty man and warrior, and leader and captain in the camp of the king of Assyria; and he returned with shame of face to his own land and came into the house of his god. And [some] of his own offspring killed him with the sword.

But I have chosen Jerusalem that My name should be there; and I have chosen David to be over My people Israel.

And what shall the kings of the nations answer? That the Lord has founded Zion, and by Him the poor of the people shall be saved.

And when Daniel knew that the decree was ordered, he went into his house. And his windows were opened in his chambers toward Jerusalem, and three times in the day he knelt upon his knees, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as he used to do before.
