And Zedekiah son of Chenaanah made for himself iron horns, and said, Thus says the Lord: With these you shall thrust Syria until they are destroyed.

And now, behold, the Lord has put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these your prophets, and the Lord has spoken evil against you.

And Micaiah said, Behold, you shall see in that day, when you shall go into an innermost chamber to hide yourself there.

and the instruction of the Lord, even the Lord, opens my ears, and I do not disobey, nor dispute.

I gave my back to scourges, and my cheeks to blows; and I turned not away my face from the shame of spitting;

And he struck him, and cast him into the dungeon which was by the gate of the upper house that was set apart, which was by the house of the Lord.

JOD. He will give his cheek to him that smites him: he will be filled full with reproaches.

Now shall the daughter [of Zion] be completely hedged in: he has laid siege against us: they shall smite the tribes of Israel with a rod upon the cheek.

Then they spat in His face, and beat Him with [their] fists; and they slapped [Him],

Then some began to spit on Him, and to blindfold Him, and to beat Him with [their] fists, and to say to Him, "Prophesy!" And the attendants were striking Him with slaps [to the face].

And when He had said these things, one of the attendants who stood by slapped Jesus with the palm of his hand, saying, "Is this how You answer the high priest?"

Jesus answered him, "If I have spoken evil, testify of the evil; but if well, why do you strike Me?"

But the high priest Ananias commanded those standing by him to strike his mouth.

Then Paul said to him, "God is about to strike you, you whitewashed wall! For you sit judging me according to the law, and contrary to the law do you command that I should be struck?"

The Lord has made you priest in the place of Jehoida the priest, to be ruler in the house of the Lord over every prophet, and to every madman, and you shall put them in prison, and into the dungeon.

And now, why have you together reviled Jeremiah of Anathoth, who prophesied to you?

Then they spat in His face, and beat Him with [their] fists; and they slapped [Him],

saying, "Prophesy to us, Christ! Who is he that struck You?"

Then [some] of the Pharisees who were with Him heard these things, and said to Him, "Are we blind also?"

Jesus said to them, "If you were blind, you would have no sin; but now you say, 'We see.' Therefore your sin remains.
