And now, behold, the Lord has put a false spirit in the mouth of these your prophets, and the Lord has spoken evil against you.

[ 3:5] And the serpent said to the woman, You shall not surely die!

[ 3:6] For God knew that in whatever day you should eat of it, your eyes would be opened, and you would be as gods, knowing good and evil.

And there came forth a spirit and stood before the Lord, and said, I will deceive him.

And the Lord said to him, In what way? And he said, I will go forth, and will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, You shall deceive him; yea, and you shall prevail: go forth, and do so.

You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father you desire to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has not stood in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he tells a lie, he speaks from his own [resources], for he is a liar, and the father of lies.

We are of God. He that knows God hears us; [he] that is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.

And the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

And he deceives my own [people] who dwell on the earth by the signs which were given to him to do before the Beast, saying to those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who had the wound--and came to life!-from the sword.

and he will come out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to the war, whose number is like the sand of the sea.

And the Lord said, Who will deceive Ahab king of Israel, that he may go up, and fall in Ramoth Gilead? And one spoke this way, and another spoke that way.

And God sent an evil spirit between Abimelech and the men of Shechem; and the men of Shecem dealt treacherously with the house of Abimelech;

Then the Lord said to the devil, Behold, I give all that he has into your hand, but touch not himself. So the devil went out from the presence of the Lord.

And the Lord said to the devil, Behold, I deliver him up to you; only save his life.

He loved cursing also, and it shall come upon him; and he took not pleasure in blessing, so it shall be removed far from him.
