And God said to Solomon, Because this was in your heart, and you have not asked for great wealth, nor glory, nor the life of your enemies, and you have not asked for long life; but have asked for yourself wisdom and understanding, that you might judge My people, over whom I have made you king;

And Solomon came from the high place that was in Gibeon to Jerusalem, [from] before the tabernacle of witness, and reigned over Israel.

And the king made silver and gold in Jerusalem [to be] as stones, and cedars in Judea as sycamores in the plain for multitude.

And the Lord prospered the kingdom in his hand; and all Judah gave gifts to Jehoshaphat; and he had great wealth and glory.

And Jehoshaphat increased in greatness exceedingly, and built fortresses in Judea, and strong cities.

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, It is the king of Israel. And they compassed him round about to fight against him. And Jehoshaphat cried out, and the Lord delivered him; and God turned them away from him.

And Jehu the prophet, the son of Hanani went out to meet him, and said to him, King Jehoshaphat, do you help a sinner, or act friendly towards one hated of the Lord? Therefore has wrath come upon you from the Lord.

And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as did the house of Ahab; for a daughter of Ahab was his wife; and he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord.

Jehoahaz began to reign when he was twenty years old, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem; and his mother's name was Athaliah, the granddaughter of Omri.

And he walked in the way of the house of Ahab; for his mother was his counselor to do evil.

And it was not enough for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, but he took Jezabel the daughter of Ethebaal king of the Sidonians for a wife; and he went and served Baal, and worshipped him.

And Ahab made a grove; and Ahab did yet more abominably, to provoke the Lord God of Israel, and [to sin against] his own life so that he should be destroyed: he did evil above all the kings of Israel that were before him.

But Ahab [did] wickedly, in that he sold himself to do that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, as his wife Jezebel led him astray.

And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as did the house of Ahab; for the daughter of Ahab was his wife. And he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord.

Ahaziah was twenty-two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem; and the name of his mother [was] Athaliah, daughter of Omri king of Israel.

And he walked in the way of the house of Ahab, and did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, as did the house of Ahab.

And Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, and she destroyed all the royal heirs.

Do not become unequally yoked with unbelievers; for what participation is there for righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion is there for light with darkness?
