And they gave him seventy [pieces] of silver out of the house of Baal-Berith; and Abimelech hired for himself vain and cowardly men, and they went after him.

And Jephthah fled from the face of his brothers, and dwelt in the land of Tob; and vain men gathered to Jephthah, and went out with him.

And everyone that was in distress, and everyone that was in debt, and everyone that was troubled in mind gathered to him there, and he was a leader over them, and there were with him about four hundred men.

[They are] sons of fools and vile men, [whose] name and glory [are] quenched from off the earth.

I have not sat with the council of vanity, and shall by no means enter in with transgressors.

He that tills his own land shall be satisfied with bread; but they that pursue vanities are void of understanding. [ 12:11A] He that enjoys himself in banquets of wine, shall leave dishonor in his own strongholds.

He that tills his own land shall be satisfied with bread, but he that follows idleness shall have plenty of poverty.

And the Jews who did not believe took some wicked men from the marketplace, and forming a mob, [they] threw the city into disorder, and came upon the house of Jason, and sought to bring them to the people.

For there are also many insubordinate, both idle talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision,

Evil men have gone out from you, and have caused all the inhabitants of their land to fall away, saying, Let us go and worship other gods, whom you knew not,

And set two men, sons of transgressors, before him, and let them testify against him, saying, He blasphemed God and the king: and let them lead him forth, and stone him, and let him die.

And two men, sons of transgressors, came in, and sat opposite him, and bore witness against him, saying, You have 6blasphemed God and the king. And they led him forth out of the city, and stoned him with stones, and he died.

for the king did not hearken to them. And the people answered the king, saying, What portion have we in David, or [what] inheritance [have we] in the son of Jesse? To your tents, O Israel! See now to your own house, O David! So all Israel went to their tents.

So King Rehoboam strengthened [himself] in Jerusalem, and reigned. And Rehoboam was forty-one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, in the city which the Lord chose out of all the tribes of the children of Israel, to call His name there; and his mother's name was Naamah the Ammonitess.

Woe to you, O city, whose king is young, and your princes eat in the morning!

And I will make youths their princes, and mockers shall have dominion over them.

Brothers, do not be children in your understanding; rather, in malice be children, but in understanding be men.

For indeed, although you ought to be teachers by this time, again you have need [for someone] to teach you what are the elements of the beginning of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food.

And Rehoboam came to Jerusalem. And he assembled Judah and Benjamin, a hundred and eighty thousand young men fit for war, and he waged war with Israel to recover the kingdom to Rehoboam.

Speak to Rehoboam the [son] of Solomon, and to all Judah and Benjamin, saying,
