And the anger of the Lord came upon Amaziah, and He sent him a prophet who said to him, Why have you sought the gods of the people, which have not rescued their own people out of your hand?

And it came to pass when the prophet was speaking to him, that he said to him, Have I made you the king's counselor? Take heed lest you be scourged! And the prophet became silent, and said, I know that [God] is disposed against you to destroy you, because you have done this thing, and have not hearkened to my counsel.

And Absalom, and all the men of Israel said, The counsel of Hushai the Archite [is] better than the counsel of Ahithophel. For the Lord has purposed to defeat the good counsel of Ahithophel, that the Lord might bring all evil upon Absalom.

but you disdained my counsels, and disregarded my reproofs;

Give an opportunity to a wise man, and he will be wiser: instruct a just man, and he will receive more [instruction].

Hear, son, the instruction of your father, that you may be wise in your latter days.

In an earring of gold a precious sardius is also set; so is a wise word to an obedient ear.

A wise man's heart is at his right hand, but a fool's heart at his left.

Yea, and whenever a fool walks down the road, his heart will fail him, and all that he thinks of is folly.

Woe to you, O city, whose king is young, and your princes eat in the morning!

Woe to the apostate children, says the Lord; you have framed counsel, not by Me, and covenants not by My Spirit, to add sins to sins;
