And Penuel [was] the father of Gedor, and Ezer the father of Hushah: these [are] the sons of Hur, the firstborn of Ephrathah, the father of Bethlehem.

So Rachel died, and was buried in the way of the course of Ephratha, (that is, Bethlehem.)

Now they both went until they came to Bethlehem. And it came to pass, when they arrived at Bethlehem, that all the city was excited because of them, and they said, Is this Naomi?

And behold, Boaz came from Bethlehem, and said to the reapers, The Lord [be] with you. And they said to him, The Lord bless you.

And all the people who were in the gate said, [We are] witnesses; and the elders said, The Lord make your wife who goes into your house, as Rachel and as Leah, who both [together] built the house of Israel, and wrought mightily in Ephratha, and there shall be a name [to you] in Bethlehem.

Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East arrived in Jerusalem,

'But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for out of you shall come forth a Ruler who will shepherd My people Israel.'"

Has not the Scripture said that the Christ comes from the seed of David and from the village of Bethlehem, where David was?"
