for we are strangers before You, and sojourners, as all our fathers [were]; our days upon the earth [are] as a shadow, and there is no remaining.

And he died in a good old age, full of days, in wealth, and glory; and Solomon his son reigned in his place.

"For David indeed in his own generation, having served by the purpose of God, died, and was buried with his fathers, and saw corruption;

But you shall depart to your fathers in peace, nourished in a good old age.

And the Lord said to Moses, Behold, you shall sleep with your fathers, and this people shall arise and go a whoring after the strange gods of the land, into which they are entering: and they will forsake Me, and break My covenant, which I made with them.

And it shall come to pass, when my lord the king shall sleep with his fathers, that I and Solomon my son shall be offenders.

And David slept with his fathers, and was buried in the City of David.

"Men, brothers, let [me] speak with boldness to you about the patriarch David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.

And of all my sons, (for the Lord has given me many sons) He has chosen Solomon my son, to set him on the throne of the kingdom of the Lord over Israel.

And it shall come to pass when your days have been fulfilled, and you sleep with your fathers, that I will raise up your seed after you, even from your own body, and I will establish his kingdom.

He shall build for Me a house for My name, and I will set up his throne, even forever.

And David comforted Bathsheba his wife, and he went in to her, and lay with her; and she conceived and bore a son, and he called his named Solomon, and the Lord loved him.

And he sent by the hand of Nathan the prophet, and called his name Jedidiah, for the Lord's sake.

And the Lord has confirmed the word that He spoke, and I have risen up in the place of my father David, and I have sat down on the throne of Israel, as the Lord spoke, and I have built the house to the name of the Lord God of Israel.

The Lord has sworn [in] truth to David, and He will not annul it, [saying], Of the fruit of your body will I set [a king] upon your throne.

Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will raise up to David a righteous branch, and a king shall reign and understand, and shall execute judgment and righteousness on the earth.

In his days both Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell securely. And this is his name, which the Lord shall call Him, Josedek among the prophets.

concerning His Son, who came of [the] seed of David according to the flesh,

who was declared Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness by the resurrection of [the] dead, Jesus Christ our Lord,
