And he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, only not as his father, nor as his mother; and he removed the pillars of Baal which his father had made.

Only he adhered to the sin of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin; he departed not from it.

And he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, and walked in the way of Ahab his father, and in the way of Jezebel his mother, and in the sins of the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who caused Israel to sin.

And he served the Baals and worshipped them, and provoked the Lord God of Israel, according to all that had been done before him.

And you shall utterly destroy the house of Ahab your master from before Me, and shall avenge the blood of My servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of the Lord, at the hand of Jezebel,

and at the hand of the whole house of Ahab; and you shall utterly cut off from the house of Ahab every male, and him that is shut up and left in Israel.

And he built again the high places, which Hezekiah his father [had] demolished, and set up an altar to Baal, and made groves as Ahab king of Israel [had made]; and worshipped the whole host of heaven, and served them.

And I will stretch out over Jerusalem the measure of Samaria, and the plummet of the house of Ahab; and I will wipe Jerusalem as a jar is wiped, and turned upside down in the wiping.

but have walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, and have caused Judah and its inhabitants in Jerusalem to play the harlot, as the house of Ahab caused [Israel] to play the harlot, and you have slain your brethren, the sons of your father, who were better than yourself.

For you have kept the statues of Omri, and done all the works of the house of Ahab; and you have walked in their ways, that I might deliver you to utter destruction, and those that inhabit the city to hissing: and you shall bear the reproach of nations.

Ahaziah was twenty-two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem; and the name of his mother [was] Athaliah, daughter of Omri king of Israel.

But Ahab [did] wickedly, in that he sold himself to do that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, as his wife Jezebel led him astray.

And Jehoshaphat had yet great wealth and glory, and he connected himself by marriage with the house of Ahab.

And Jehu the prophet, the son of Hanani went out to meet him, and said to him, King Jehoshaphat, do you help a sinner, or act friendly towards one hated of the Lord? Therefore has wrath come upon you from the Lord.

And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as did the house of Ahab; for a daughter of Ahab was his wife; and he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord.

And the inhabitants of Jerusalem made Jehoahaz his youngest son king in his place, for the band of robbers that came against them, even the Arabians and the Alimazonians, had slain all the elder ones. So Jehoahaz son of Jehoram king of Judah reigned.

And he walked in the way of the house of Ahab; for his mother was his counselor to do evil.

[ 6:2] And it came to pass when men began to be numerous upon the earth, and daughters were born to them,

[ 6:4] And the Lord God said, My Spirit shall certainly not remain among these men forever, because they are flesh, but their days shall be one hundred and twenty years.

[ 6:6] And the Lord God, having seen that the wicked actions of men were multiplied upon the earth, and that everyone in his heart was intently brooding over evil continually,

neither shall you contract marriages with them; you shall not give your daughter to his son, and you shall not take his daughter to your son.

For he will draw away your son from Me, and he will serve other gods; and the Lord will be very angry with you, and will soon utterly destroy you.

And King Solomon was a lover of women. And he took strange women, as well as the daughter of Pharaoh, Moabite and Ammonite women, Syrians and Edomites, Hittites and Amorites;

And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines. And the strange women turned away his heart after their gods.

For Solomon went after Ashtoreth, the abomination of the Sidonians.

And I strove with them and cursed them; and I struck some of them, and plucked off their hair, and made them swear by God, [saying,] You shall not give your daughters to their sons, and you shall not take of their daughters to your sons.

Did not Solomon king of Israel sin thus? Yet there was no king like him among many nations, and he was beloved of God, and God made him king over all Israel; yet strange women turned him aside.
