gold and silver cups, and a small cup of carbuncle set out of the value of thirty thousand talents, abundant and sweet wine, which the king himself drank.

And everyone that is glorious in the house of his father shall trust in him, from the least to the greatest; and they shall depend upon him in that day.

And the devil answered and said to the Lord, Skin for skin! All that a man has he will give as a ransom for his life.

For in that day a man shall cast forth his silver and gold abominations, which they made, [in order] to worship vanities and bats;

And what will they do in the day of visitation? For affliction shall come to you from afar; and to whom will you flee for help? And where will you leave your glory,

For in that day men shall renounce their silver idols and [their] golden idols, which their hands have made.

Cast away from yourselves all your ungodliness in which you have sinned against Me; and make to yourselves a new heart and a new spirit: for why should you die, O house of Israel?

For what is a man profited if he gains the whole world, but forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give [as] an exchange for his soul?

then let those who are in Judea flee upon the mountains.

And let the [one] in the field not turn back to take his clothes.

But such things as were gain to me, these I have considered loss for the sake of Christ.

More than that I also consider all things to be loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have sustained the loss of all things, and I consider them to be rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ

So therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every impediment, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
