And she said to her mistress, O that my lord were before the prophet of God in Samaria; then he would heal him from his leprosy.

And one of the servants reported to Abigail, Nabal's wife, saying, Behold, David sent messengers out of the wilderness to salute our lord; but he turned away from them.

And when we were in the field, they were as a wall round about us, both by night and by day, all the days that we were with them feeding the flock.

And the servants of the king of Syria said, The God of Israel [is] a God of mountains, and not a God of valleys; therefore has he prevailed against us; but if we should fight against them in the plain, verily we shall prevail against them.

but there is a spirit in mortals, and the inspiration of the Almighty is that which teaches.

The long-lived are not wise as such, neither do the aged know judgment.

And Ebed-Melech the Ethiopian heard (now he was in the king's household) that they [had] put Jeremiah into the dungeon; and the king was in the Gate of Benjamin.

You have done evil in what you have done to slay this man with hunger, for there is no more bread in the city.

And Elisha saw, and cried, Father, father, the chariot of Israel, and its horseman! And he saw him no more. And he took hold of his garments, and tore them into two pieces.

And the king of Israel said to Elisha, when he saw them, Shall I [not] kill them, [my] father?

Now Elisha was sick with the sickness of which he died [from]. And Joash king of Israel went down to him, and wept over his face, and said, [My] father, [my] father, the chariots of Israel, and their horseman!

And he mounted him on the second of his chariots, and a herald made proclamation before him; and he set him over all the land of Egypt.

A son honors [his] father, and a servant his master: if then I am a Father, where is My honor? And if I am a Master, where is My fear? Says the Lord Almighty. You the priests are they that despise My name: yet you said, In what way have we despised Your name?

Do not call [anyone] on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven.

For though you might have ten thousand tutors in Christ, yet [you do] not have many fathers; for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.

For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, God was well pleased, through the foolishness of our preaching, to save those that believe.

But God chose the foolish things of the world in order that He might humiliate the wise, and God chose the weak things of the world in order that He might humiliate the mighty.

And Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, Go and wash seven times in the Jordan, and your flesh shall return to you, and you shall be cleansed.

Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.

You shall sprinkle me with hyssop, and I shall be purified; You shall wash me, and I shall be made whiter than snow.

Wash, and be clean; remove your iniquities from your souls before My eyes; cease from your iniquities;

Peter said to Him, "You shall never wash my feet!" Jesus answered him, "Unless I wash you, you have no part with Me."

And now, what are you going to do? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord.'

in order that He might sanctify her, cleansing her by the washing of water by the word,

that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and blameless.

not by works of righteousness which we did, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,

let us approach with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies having been washed with clean water.

which [as] an antitype, baptism now also saves us-(not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but an appeal to God [for] a good conscience), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

And I said to him, "My lord, you know." So he said to me, "These are those who come out of the Great Tribulation, and have washed their robes and they made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
