And he said, God do so to me and more also, if the head of Elisha shall stand upon him this day.

And Elisha was sitting in his house, and the elders were sitting with him; and [the king] sent a man before him. [But b]efore the messenger came to him, [Elisha] said to the elders, Do you see that this son of a murderer has sent to take away my head? See, as soon as the messenger has come, shut the door, and forcibly detain him at the door: [is] not the sound of his master's feet behind him?

And he caused his sons to pass through the fire, and practiced witchcraft and soothsaying, and made groves, and multiplied wizards, so as to do that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke Him to anger.

And he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, as Manasseh his father had done.

And why did you not listen to the voice of the Lord, but instead swoop down upon the spoils, and do that which was evil in the sight of the Lord?

because of his sins which he committed, doing that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, so as to walk in the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and in his sins wherein he caused Israel to sin.

And Ahab made a grove; and Ahab did yet more abominably, to provoke the Lord God of Israel, and [to sin against] his own life so that he should be destroyed: he did evil above all the kings of Israel that were before him.

And Ahab said to Elijah, Have you found me, O my enemy? And he said, I have found [you]; because you have wickedly sold yourself to work evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke Him to anger;

But Ahab [did] wickedly, in that he sold himself to do that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, as his wife Jezebel led him astray.

And it came to pass when Joram saw Jehu, that he said, [Is it] peace, Jehu? And Jehu said, How [can it be] peace, as long as [there are] the harlotries of your mother Jezebel, and her abundant witchcrafts?

And [Jehu] went in and ate and drank, and said, Look after this cursed woman and bury her, for she is a king's daughter.

And Jezebel his wife went in to him, and spoke to him, [saying], Why [is] your spirit troubled, and [why] do you eat no bread?

And Jezebel his wife said to him, Do you now thus act [this way, being] king over Israel? Arise, and eat bread, and be your own [master], and I will give you the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite.

And it was written in the letters, saying, Proclaim a fast, and set Naboth in a chief place among the people.

And the men of his city, the elders, and the nobles who dwelt in his city, did as Jezabel sent to them, and as it had been written in the letters which she sent to them.

And two men, sons of transgressors, came in, and sat opposite him, and bore witness against him, saying, You have 6blasphemed God and the king. And they led him forth out of the city, and stoned him with stones, and he died.

And it came to pass, when Jezebel heard [it], that she said to Ahab, Arise, take possession of the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, who would not sell it to you; for Naboth is not alive, for he is dead.

And Jehu gathered all the people and said to them, Ahab served Baal a little; Jehu shall serve him much.

And they brought out the pillar of Baal, and burned it.

So Jehu abolished Baal out of Israel.

And it was not enough for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, but he took Jezabel the daughter of Ethebaal king of the Sidonians for a wife; and he went and served Baal, and worshipped him.

And he set up an alter to Baal, in the house of his abominations, which he built in Samaria.
