Then Abraham breathed his last, and died in a good old age, an old man and full of days, and was added to his people.

And the Lord said to Moses, Behold, you shall sleep with your fathers, and this people shall arise and go a whoring after the strange gods of the land, into which they are entering: and they will forsake Me, and break My covenant, which I made with them.

And it shall come to pass when your days shall be fulfilled, and you shall sleep with your fathers, that I will raise up your seed after you, which shall be of your loins, and I will establish his kingdom.

Behold, I [will] gather you to your fathers, and you shall be gathered to your grave in peace, and your eyes shall not look upon all the evils which I am bringing upon this place, and upon the inhabitants of it. And they brought back word to the king.

And in his days Pharaoh Necho king of Egypt went up against the king of the Assyrians, to the River Euphrates; and Josiah went out to meet him. And Necho killed him in Megiddo when he saw him.

And his servants carried him dead from Megiddo, and brought him to Jerusalem, and buried him in his tomb. And the people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah, and anointed him, and made him king in the place of his father.

Maintain innocence, and behold uprightness; for there is a remnant to the peaceable man.

See how the just man has perished, and no one lays [it] to heart; and righteous men are taken away, and no one considers; for the righteous has been removed out of the way of injustice.

His burial shall be in peace; he has been removed out of the way.

Weep not for the dead, nor lament for him: weep bitterly for him that goes away; for he shall return no more, nor see his native land.

Shall you reign because you are provoked with your father Ahaz? They shall not eat, and they shall not drink: it is better for you to execute justice and righteousness.

They understood not, they judged not the cause of the afflicted, nor the cause of the poor- is not this your not knowing Me? Says the Lord.
