Let not your God on whom you trust encourage you, saying, Jerusalem shall not be delivered into the hands of the king of the Assyrians.

Whom have you reproached, and whom have you reviled? And against whom have you lifted up your voice, and raised your eyes on high? [Is it] [not] against the Holy One of Israel?

O you sons of men, how long [will you be] slow to hear? Why do you love vanity, and seek falsehood? Pause.

For the end, A Psalm of David. In the Lord I have put my trust: how will you say to my soul, Flee to the mountains as a sparrow?

All that saw Me mocked Me; they spoke with [their] lips, they shook the head, [saying],

He hoped in the Lord; let Him deliver Him, let Him save Him, because He takes pleasure in Him.

Do not cast me off at the time of old age; do not forsake me when my strength fails.

saying, God has forsaken him: persecute him, and take him; for there is none to deliver [him].

A Song of Degrees. They that trust in the Lord [shall be] as Mount Zion: he that dwells in Jerusalem shall never be moved.

The mountains are round about her, and [so] the Lord is round about His people, from this time forth and forever.

He trusted in God; let Him deliver Him now if He'll [have] Him; for He said, 'I am the Son of God.'"

And the people stood, observing. And the rulers with them also were sneering, saying, "He saved others; let Him save Himself if He is the Christ, the elect of God."

[Is it] not so? Thus says the Lord concerning the king of the Assyrians: He shall not enter into this city, and he shall not shoot an arrow there, neither shall a shield come against it, neither shall he heap a mound against it.

And I will defend this city as with a shield, for My own sake, and for the sake of My servant David.
