Deuteronomy 20:1-4

And if you should go forth to war against your enemies, and should see a horse and rider, and a people more numerous than yourself; you shall not be afraid of them, for the Lord your God [is] with you, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt.
2
And it shall come to pass whenever you shall draw near to battle, that the priest shall draw near and speak to the people, and shall say to them,
3
Hear, O Israel; you are going this day to battle against your enemies: let not your heart faint; fear not, neither be confounded, neither turn aside from their face.
4
For [it is] the Lord your God who advances with you, to fight with you against your enemies, [and] to save you.
Deuteronomy 31:3-6

The Lord your God who goes before you, He shall destroy these nations before you, and you shall inherit them: and [it shall be] Joshua that goes before your face, as the Lord has spoken.

And the Lord your God shall do to them as He did to Sihon and Og, the two kings of the Amorites, who were beyond the Jordan, and to their land, as He destroyed them.
5
And the Lord has delivered them to you; and you shall do to them, as I commanded you.
6
Be courageous and strong; fear not, neither be cowardly neither be afraid before them; for [it is] the Lord your God that advances with you in the midst of you, neither will He by any means forsake you, nor desert you.

Numbers 31:1-12

And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

Avenge the wrongs of the children of Israel on the Midianites, and afterwards you shall be added to your people.

And Moses spoke to the people, saying, Arm some of yourselves for war, and set yourselves in array before the Lord against Midian, to inflict vengeance on Midian from the Lord.

Send a thousand of each tribe from all the tribes of the children of Israel to set themselves in array.

And they numbered of the thousands of Israel a thousand of [each] tribe, twelve thousand; [these were] armed for war.

And Moses sent them away, a thousand of every tribe with their forces, and Phinehas the son of Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest. And the holy instruments, and the signal trumpets [were] in their hands.
7
And they set themselves in array against Midian, as the Lord commanded Moses; and they killed every male.
8
And they killed the kings of Midian together with their slain [subjects]; even Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba, the five kings of Midian; and they killed with the sword Balaam the son of Beor with their [other] slain.
9
And they made a prey of the women of Midian, and their store, and their cattle, and all their possessions; and they spoiled their forces.
10
And they burned with fire all their cities in the places of their habitation, and they burned their villages with fire.
11
And they took all their plunder, and all their spoils, both man and beast.
12
And they brought to Moses and to Eleazar the priest, and to all the children of Israel, the captives, and the spoils, and the plunder, to the camp to Araboth Moab, which is at the Jordan by Jericho.
Joshua 6:2-5

And the Lord said to Joshua, Behold, I deliver Jericho into your power, and its king, [and its] mighty men.

And set the men of war round about it.

And it shall be [that] when you shall sound with the trumpet, all the people shall shout together.

And when they have shouted, the walls of the city shall fall by themselves; and all the people shall enter, each one rushing directly into the city.

And now, behold, the children of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir, with regard to whom You did not permit Israel to pass through their border, when they had come out of the land of Egypt, (for they turned away from them, and did not destroy them)-

yet now, behold, they make attempts against us, to come forth to cast us out from our inheritance which You have given to us.
12
O Lord our God, will You not judge them? For we have no strength to resist this great multitude that has come against us; and we know not what we shall do to them, but our eyes are toward You.
13
And all Judah was standing before the Lord, and their children, and their wives.
