And it came to pass when Baasha heard it, that he left off building Ramah, and returned to Tirzah.

And in the third year of Asa king of Judah, Baasha the son of Ahijah began to reign over Israel in Tirzah, twenty-four years.

And Baasha slept with his fathers, and they buried him in Tirzah; and Elah his son reigned in his place.

And Elah son of Baasha reigned over Israel two years in Tirzah.

And Zimri, captain of half his cavalry, conspired against him, while he was in Tirzah, drinking himself drunk in the house of Arza the steward at Tirzah.

And Zimri reigned in Tirzah [for] seven days. And the army of Israel [was] encamped against Gibbethon of the Philistines.

In the thirty-first year of King Asa, Omri began to reign over Israel [for] twelve years: he reigned six years in Tirzah.

And Eli blessed Elkanah and his wife, saying The Lord recompense to you decendants from this woman, in return for the loan which you have lent to the Lord. And the man returned to his place.

And Eli was very old, and he heard what his sons did to the children of Israel.

No my sons! For the report which I hear is not good. Do not [do] so, for the reports which I hear are not good, so that the people do not serve God.

And this which shall come upon your two sons Hophni and Phineas shall be a sign to you: in one day they shall both die.

And it came to pass, when he mentioned the ark of God, that he fell from the seat backward near the gate, and his back was broken, and he died, for he was an old man and heavy. And he judged Israel twenty years.

And in her time she was at the point of death; and the women that stood by her said to her, Fear not, for you have born a son. But she answered not, and her heart did not regard it.
