And he departed from there to the mountain east of Bethel, and there he pitched his tent in Bethel near the sea, and Ai toward the east, and there he built an altar to the Lord, and called on the name of the Lord.

And he called the name of that place, the House of God; and the name of the city before was Luz.

And God said to Jacob, Arise, go up to Bethel, and dwell there; and make there an altar to the God that appeared to you, when you fled from the face of Esau your brother.

But you, O Israel, be not ignorant, and go not to Gilgal, O [men of] Judah, and go not up to the house of On, and swear not by the living Lord.

they who swear by the propitiation of Samaria, and who say, Your god, O Dan, lives; and, Your god, O Beersheba, lives; and they shall fall, and shall not rise again.
