And the days of David drew near that he should die. And he addressed his son Solomon, saying, I go the way of all the earth;

And the Lord has confirmed the word that He spoke, and I have risen up in the place of my father David, and I have sat down on the throne of Israel, as the Lord spoke, and I have built the house to the name of the Lord God of Israel.

And the Lord said to Moses, Behold, you shall sleep with your fathers, and this people shall arise and go a whoring after the strange gods of the land, into which they are entering: and they will forsake Me, and break My covenant, which I made with them.

And it shall come to pass, when my lord the king shall sleep with his fathers, that I and Solomon my son shall be offenders.

And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to reproach and everlasting shame.

"For David indeed in his own generation, having served by the purpose of God, died, and was buried with his fathers, and saw corruption;

Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all die, but we shall all be changed--

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose [again], thus also God will bring with Him those who die in Jesus.

And immediately the voice of the Lord came to him, saying, This shall not be your heir; but he that shall come out of you shall be your heir.

And the Lord has confirmed the word that He spoke, and I have risen up in the place of my father David, and I have sat down on the throne of Israel, as the Lord spoke, and I have built the house to the name of the Lord God of Israel.

And it shall come to pass when your days shall be fulfilled, and you shall sleep with your fathers, that I will raise up your seed after you, which shall be of your loins, and I will establish his kingdom.

And I will establish his seed forever and ever, and his throne as the days of heaven.

The Lord has sworn [in] truth to David, and He will not annul it, [saying], Of the fruit of your body will I set [a king] upon your throne.

If your children will keep My covenant, and these My testimonies which I shall teach them, their children also shall sit upon your throne forever.

His government shall be great, and of His peace there is no end; [it shall be] upon the throne of David, and [upon] His kingdom, to establish it, and to support [it] with judgment and with righteousness, from this time forward and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts shall perform this.

And there shall come forth a Rod out of the root of Jesse, and a blossom shall come up from [his] root;

the spirit of the fear of God. He shall not judge according to appearance, nor reprove according to report;

saying, "What do you think about the Christ? Whose Son is He?" They said to Him, "David's."

'The LORD said to my Lord, "Sit at My right hand, till I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet" '?

"Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, He would raise up the Christ to seat [Him] on his throne,
