And the two sons of Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, took each his censer, and put fire in it, and threw incense on it, and offered strange fire before the Lord, which the Lord did not command them,

And Moses said to Aaron, This is the thing which the Lord spoke, saying, I will be sanctified among them that draw near to Me, and I will be glorified in the whole congregation; and Aaron was pricked [in his heart].

And the sons of Jeconiah were not pleased with the men of Beth Shemesh, because they looked into the ark of the Lord; and the Lord struck fifty thousand and seventy men among them. And the people mourned, because the Lord had inflicted on the people a very great plague.

And the Lord was very angry with Uzza, and struck him there, because of his stretching forth his hand upon the ark. And he died there before God.

Then said David, It is not [lawful for any] to bear the ark of God, but the Levites; for the Lord has chosen them to bear the ark of the Lord, and to minister to Him forever.

For because you were not [ready] at the first, our God made a breach upon us, because we sought Him not according to the ordinance.

Because of this many among you are weak and sick, and many have died.

But when we are judged, we are disciplined by the Lord, in order that we may not be condemned with the world.
