And Absalom did after this manner to all Israel that came to the king for judgment; and Absalom gained the hearts of the men of Israel.

And there came a messenger to David, saying, the heart of the men of Israel has gone after Absalom.

But the sons of men are vain; the sons of men are false, so as to be deceitful in the balances; they are all alike, [formed] out of vanity.

And they were astonished beyond measure, saying, "He has done all things well. He makes both the deaf to hear and the mute to speak."

But the chief priests stirred up the crowd, so that he should rather release Barabbas to them.

And again they cried, "Crucify Him!"
