And Esau, also having seen that the daughters of Canaan were evil before his father Isaac,

And his doing this appeared evil before God; and He killed him also.

And the people murmured sinfully before the Lord; and the Lord heard [them] and was very angry; and fire was kindled among them from the Lord, and devoured a part of the camp.

And Balaam said to the Angel of the Lord, I have sinned, for I did not know that You were standing opposite in the way to meet [me]; and now, if it shall not be pleasing to You [for me to go on], I shall return.

But the Lord said to Samuel, Look not on his appearance, nor on his stature, for I have rejected him; for God sees not as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but God looks at the heart.

And Omri did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, and wrought wickedly beyond all that were before him.

And [there was] evil in the sight of the Lord respecting this thing; and He struck Israel.

For the Lord will see it, and it will not please Him, and He will turn away His wrath from him.

nor [are they] all children because they are the seed of Abraham; but, "In Isaac your seed shall be called."

That is, those who are the children of the flesh, are not the children of God; but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.

for [the children] not yet being born, nor having done anything good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might abide, not of works but of Him who calls,
