This is the book of the generations of heaven and earth, when they were made, in the day in which the Lord God made the heaven and the earth,

This is the genealogy of men in the day in which God made Adam; in the image of God He made him:

[ 6:10] And these are the generations of Noah. Noah was a just man; being perfect in his generation; Noah was well pleasing to God.

Now these [are] the generations of the sons of Noah: Shem, Ham, and Japheth; and sons were born to them after the flood.

And she gave him Bilhah her maid, for a wife to him; and Jacob went in to her.

And Leah saw that she ceased from bearing, and she took Zilpah her maid, and gave her to Jacob for a wife; and he went in to her.

[ 35:21] And it came to pass when Israel dwelt in that land, that Reuben went and lay with Bilhah, the concubine of his father Jacob; and Israel heard, and the thing appeared grievous before him. [ 35:22] Now the sons of Jacob were twelve:

And the sons of Bilhah, Rachel's maidservant, [were] Dan and Naphtali.

And the sons of Zilpah, Leah's maidservant, [were] Gad and Asher. These are the sons of Jacob, which were born to him in Mesopotamia of Syria.

And Eli was very old, and he heard what his sons did to the children of Israel.

No my sons! For the report which I hear is not good. Do not [do] so, for the reports which I hear are not good, so that the people do not serve God.
