and dreamed. And behold, a ladder fixed on the earth, whose top reached to heaven, and the angels of God ascended and descended on it.

And the Lord stood upon it, and said, I am the God of your father Abraham, and the God of Isaac; fear not, the land on which you lie I will give to you and to your seed.

And Jacob was greatly terrified, and was perplexed; and he divided the people that was with him, and the cows, and the camels, and the sheep, into two camps.

And Jacob was left alone; and a Man wrestled with him till the morning.

For the end, for the sons of Korah; A Psalm concerning secret things. God is our refuge and strength, a help in the afflictions that have come heavily upon us.

And call upon Me in the day of affliction; and I shall deliver you, and you shall glorify Me. Pause.

I will go into Your house with whole burnt offerings; I will pay You my vows,

which my lips framed, and my mouth uttered in my affliction.

He shall call upon Me, and I will hearken to him; I am with him in affliction; and I will deliver him, and glorify him.

[A Psalm] of David. Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all [that is] within me, [bless] His holy name.

who forgives all your transgressions, who heals all your diseases;

who satisfies your desire with good things; [so that] your youth shall be renewed like [that] of the eagle.

Then they cried to the Lord in their affliction, and He delivered them out of their distresses.

Let them acknowledge to the Lord His mercies, and His wonderful works to the children of men.

Alleluia. I am well pleased, because the Lord will hearken to the voice of my supplication.

Because He has inclined His ear to me, therefore will I call upon Him while I live.

O Lord, I am Your servant; I am Your servant, and the son of Your handmaid; You have burst my bonds.

I will pay my vows unto the Lord, in the presence of all His people,

Open to me the gates of righteousness; I will go into them, and give praise to the Lord.

I will give thanks to You; because You have heard me, and have become my salvation.

For the holy people shall dwell in Zion; and [whereas] Jerusalem has wept bitterly, [saying], Pity me; He shall pity you; when He heard the voice of your cry, He hearkened to you.

And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If the Lord God will be with me, and guard me throughout on this journey, on which I am going, and give me bread to eat, and clothing to put on,

And the Lord said to Jacob, Return to the land of your father, and to your family, and I will be with you.

Unless the God of my father, the God of Abraham and the Fear of Isaac, had been with me, surely now you would have sent me away empty-handed; [but] God saw my humiliation, and the labor of my hands, and rebuked you yesterday.

In all your ways acquaint yourself with her, that she may rightly direct your paths.

And if you pass through water, I am with you; and the rivers shall not overflow you; and if you go through the fire, you shall not be burned; the flame shall not burn you.
