Now then, my son, hear my voice, and rise and depart quickly into Mesopotamia to Laban my brother, into Haran.

and rage toward you departs, and he forget what you have done to him; and I will send and bring you from there, lest at any time I should be bereaved of you both in one day.

So Isaac sent Jacob away, and he went into Mesopotamia, to Laban the son of Bethuel the Syrian, the brother of Rebecca the mother of Jacob and Esau.

And Abram, having removed his tent, came and dwelt by the oak of Mamre, which was in Hebron, and there he built an altar to the Lord.

And one of them that had been rescued came and told Abram the Hebrew; and he dwelt by the oak of Mamre the Amorite, the brother of Eschol, and the brother of Aner, who were confederates with Abram.

And God appeared to him by the oak of Mamre, as he sat by the door of his tent in the heat of the day.

And Sarah died in Kirjath Arba, which is in the valley, this is Hebron in the land of Canaan; and Abraham came to lament for Sarah and to mourn.

After this Abraham buried Sarah his wife in the Double Cave of the field, which is opposite Mamre, this is Hebron in the land of Canaan.

And now I ask of you this mountain, as the Lord said in that day; for you heard this word on that day. And now the Anakim are there, cities great and strong. If then the Lord should be with me, I will utterly destroy them, as the Lord said to me.

Therefore Hebron became the inheritance of Caleb the [son] of Jephunneh the Kenizzite until this day, because he followed the commandment of the Lord God of Israel.

And to Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a portion in the midst of the children of Judah by the command of God; and Joshua gave him the city of Arba the metropolis of Anak; this is Hebron.

And they gave to them Kirjath Arba the metropolis of the sons of Anak; this is Hebron in the mountains of Judah, and the suburbs surrounding it.

And it came to pass after this that David inquired of the Lord, saying, Shall I go up into one of the cities of Judah? And the Lord said to him, Go up. And David said, Where shall I go up? And He said, To Hebron.

and the men that were with him, everyone and his family; and they dwelt in the cities of Hebron.

And the days which David reigned in Hebron over the house of Judah were seven years and six months.

And all the tribes of Israel came to David to Hebron, and they said to him, Behold, we [are] your bone and your flesh.

And all the elders of Israel come to the king at Hebron; and King David made a covenant with them at Hebron before the Lord; and they anointed David king over all Israel.

Seven years and six months he reigned in Hebron over Judah, and thirty-three years he reigned over all Israel and Judah in Jerusalem.
