And he bought the portion of the field, where he pitched his tent, of Hamor the father of Shechem, for a hundred lambs.

[ 6:3] that the sons of God, having seen the daughters of men, that they were beautiful, took to themselves wives of all whom they chose.

the man who lay with her shall give to the father of the damsel fifty silver shekels, and she shall be his wife, because he has humbled her; he shall never be able to put her away.

Behold my daughter [is] a virgin, and the man's concubine [is here as well]: I will bring them out, and humble them, and do to them that which is good in your eyes; but to this man do not do such a vile thing!

But the men would not consent to hear him. So the man laid hold of his concubine, and brought her out to them; and they knew her, and abused her all night till the morning, and let her go when the morning dawned.

In you they have uncovered the father's shame; and in you they have humbled her that was set apart for uncleanness.

They have dealt unlawfully each one with his neighbor's wife; and each one in ungodliness has defiled his daughter-in-law: and in you they have humbled each one his sister, the daughter of his father.
