He would tell you there are many sides to wisdom; there are things too deep for human knowledge. God is punishing you less than you deserve.

Can you discover the limits and bounds of the greatness and power of God?

God said to us humans, "To be wise, you must have reverence for the Lord. To understand, you must turn from evil."

The LORD is the friend of those who obey him and he affirms his covenant with them.

because the LORD hates people who do evil, but he takes righteous people into his confidence.

I said, "None of these prophets has ever known the LORD's secret thoughts. None of them has ever heard or understood his message, or ever listened or paid attention to what he said.

He told them to pray to the God of heaven for mercy and to ask him to explain the mystery to them so that they would not be killed along with the other advisers in Babylon.

Then that same night the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision, and he praised the God of heaven:

He reveals things that are deep and secret; he knows what is hidden in darkness, and he himself is surrounded by light.

Daniel replied, "Your Majesty, there is no wizard, magician, fortuneteller, or astrologer who can tell you that.

"While Your Majesty was sleeping, you dreamed about the future; and God, who reveals mysteries, showed you what is going to happen.

Belteshazzar, chief of the fortunetellers, I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in you and that you understand all mysteries. This is my dream. Tell me what it means.

The Sovereign LORD never does anything without revealing his plan to his servants, the prophets.

He did this to make come true what the prophet had said, "I will use parables when I speak to them; I will tell them things unknown since the creation of the world."

I do not call you servants any longer, because servants do not know what their master is doing. Instead, I call you friends, because I have told you everything I heard from my Father.

Jesus answered him, "If I want him to live until I come, what is that to you? Follow me!"

Jesus said to them, "The times and occasions are set by my Father's own authority, and it is not for you to know when they will be.

How great are God's riches! How deep are his wisdom and knowledge! Who can explain his decisions? Who can understand his ways?

As the scripture says, "Who knows the mind of the Lord? Who is able to give him advice?

Let us give glory to God! He is able to make you stand firm in your faith, according to the Good News I preach about Jesus Christ and according to the revelation of the secret truth which was hidden for long ages in the past.

Now, however, that truth has been brought out into the open through the writings of the prophets; and by the command of the eternal God it is made known to all nations, so that all may believe and obey.

As the scripture says, "Who knows the mind of the Lord? Who is able to give him advice?" We, however, have the mind of Christ.

I am going to use wise sayings and explain mysteries from the past,

We will not keep them from our children; we will tell the next generation about the LORD's power and his great deeds and the wonderful things he has done.

so that the next generation might learn them and in turn should tell their children.

You are to answer them, "Listen to what the LORD is teaching you! Don't listen to mediums---what they tell you cannot keep trouble away."

"My Father has given me all things. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.

Take my yoke and put it on you, and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in spirit; and you will find rest.

Jesus answered, "The knowledge about the secrets of the Kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them.

But these have been written in order that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that through your faith in him you may have life.

Now, however, that truth has been brought out into the open through the writings of the prophets; and by the command of the eternal God it is made known to all nations, so that all may believe and obey.

I remember the sincere faith you have, the kind of faith that your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice also had. I am sure that you have it also.

All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching the truth, rebuking error, correcting faults, and giving instruction for right living,

Teach them to your children. Repeat them when you are at home and when you are away, when you are resting and when you are working.

If you and your descendants will turn back to the LORD and with all your heart obey his commands that I am giving you today,
