Imitate me, then, just as I imitate Christ.

Keep on imitating me, my friends. Pay attention to those who follow the right example that we have set for you.

You imitated us and the Lord; and even though you suffered much, you received the message with the joy that comes from the Holy Spirit.

We did this, not because we do not have the right to demand our support; we did it to be an example for you to follow.

Remember your former leaders, who spoke God's message to you. Think back on how they lived and died, and imitate their faith.

Do not try to rule over those who have been put in your care, but be examples to the flock.
