They started making fun of him, so he put them all out, took the child's father and mother and his three disciples, and went into the room where the child was lying.

Jesus noticed that the crowd was closing in on them, so he gave a command to the evil spirit. "Deaf and dumb spirit," he said, "I order you to come out of the boy and never go into him again!"

But Jesus took her by the hand and called out, "Get up, child!"

He knelt down and cried out in a loud voice, "Lord! Do not remember this sin against them!" He said this and died.

When Paul finished, he knelt down with them and prayed.

But when our time with them was over, we left and went on our way. All of them, together with their wives and children, went with us out of the city to the beach, where we all knelt and prayed.

"Give the boy to me," Elijah said. He took the boy from her arms, carried him upstairs to the room where he was staying, and laid him on the bed.

Then Elijah stretched himself out on the boy three times and prayed, "O LORD my God, restore this child to life!"

Elijah took the boy back downstairs to his mother and said to her, "Look, your son is alive!"

When Elisha arrived, he went alone into the room and saw the boy lying dead on the bed.

Then he lay down on the boy, placing his mouth, eyes, and hands on the boy's mouth, eyes, and hands. As he lay stretched out over the boy, the boy's body started to get warm.

Elisha called Gehazi and told him to call the boy's mother. When she came in, he said to her, "Here's your son."

But as soon as the people had been put out, Jesus went into the girl's room and took hold of her hand, and she got up.

He took her by the hand and said to her, "Talitha, koum," which means, "Little girl, I tell you to get up!"

She got up at once and started walking around. (She was twelve years old.) When this happened, they were completely amazed.

After he had said this, he called out in a loud voice, "Lazarus, come out!"

He came out, his hands and feet wrapped in grave cloths, and with a cloth around his face. "Untie him," Jesus told them, "and let him go."
