God gave the Law through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

They said, "Has the LORD spoken only through Moses? Hasn't he also spoken through us?" The LORD heard what they said.

Suddenly the LORD said to Moses, Aaron, and Miriam, "I want the three of you to come out to the Tent of my presence." They went,

and the LORD said, "Now hear what I have to say! When there are prophets among you, I reveal myself to them in visions and speak to them in dreams.

Moses said to the people, "This is how you will know that the LORD has sent me to do all these things and that it is not by my own choice that I have done them.

There has never been a prophet in Israel like Moses; the LORD spoke with him face-to-face.

He revealed his plans to Moses and let the people of Israel see his mighty deeds.

Then he sent his servant Moses, and Aaron, whom he had chosen.

There in the desert they were jealous of Moses and of Aaron, the LORD's holy servant.

"Remember the teachings of my servant Moses, the laws and commands which I gave him at Mount Sinai for all the people of Israel to obey.

"Moses is the one who was rejected by the people of Israel. 'Who made you ruler and judge over us?' they asked. He is the one whom God sent to rule the people and set them free with the help of the angel who appeared to him in the burning bush.

But to this very day I have been helped by God, and so I stand here giving my witness to all, to small and great alike. What I say is the very same thing which the prophets and Moses said was going to happen:

He was faithful to God, who chose him to do this work, just as Moses was faithful in his work in God's house.

Every house, of course, is built by someone---and God is the one who has built all things.

Some of the Pharisees said, "The man who did this cannot be from God, for he does not obey the Sabbath law." Others, however, said, "How could a man who is a sinner perform such miracles as these?" And there was a division among them.

A second time they called back the man who had been born blind, and said to him, "Promise before God that you will tell the truth! We know that this man who cured you is a sinner."

Tell them to throw him in prison and to put him on bread and water until I return safely."

Jehu went back to his fellow officers, who asked him, "Is everything all right? What did that crazy fellow want with you?" "You know what he wanted," Jehu answered.

When the Pharisees heard this, they replied, "He drives out demons only because their ruler Beelzebul gives him power to do so."

and said, "This man said, 'I am able to tear down God's Temple and three days later build it back up.' "

where they began to accuse him: "We caught this man misleading our people, telling them not to pay taxes to the Emperor and claiming that he himself is the Messiah, a king."

The people listened to Paul until he said this; but then they started shouting at the top of their voices, "Away with him! Kill him! He's not fit to live!"

But when the Messiah comes, no one will know where he is from. And we all know where this man comes from."

Others said, "He is the Messiah!" But others said, "The Messiah will not come from Galilee!

The scripture says that the Messiah will be a descendant of King David and will be born in Bethlehem, the town where David lived."

"No," Jesus answered, "even though I do testify on my own behalf, what I say is true, because I know where I came from and where I am going. You do not know where I came from or where I am going.

But I am no longer a human being; I am a worm, despised and scorned by everyone!

It was the will of the LORD that his servant grow like a plant taking root in dry ground. He had no dignity or beauty to make us take notice of him. There was nothing attractive about him, nothing that would draw us to him.

We despised him and rejected him; he endured suffering and pain. No one would even look at him--- we ignored him as if he were nothing.
