At dawn the angels tried to make Lot hurry. "Quick!" they said. "Take your wife and your two daughters and get out, so that you will not lose your lives when the city is destroyed."

Then one of the angels said, "Run for your lives! Don't look back and don't stop in the valley. Run to the hills, so that you won't be killed."

Satan replied, "A person will give up everything in order to stay alive.

Don't let yourself go to sleep or even stop to rest.

Get out of the trap like a bird or a deer escaping from a hunter.

Sensible people will see trouble coming and avoid it, but an unthinking person will walk right into it and regret it later.

"Then those who are in Judea must run away to the hills.

Someone who is in the field must not go back to get a cloak.

"On that day someone who is on the roof of a house must not go down into the house to get any belongings; in the same way anyone who is out in the field must not go back to the house.

Those who try to save their own life will lose it; those who lose their life will save it.

The violent storm continued, so on the next day they began to throw some of the ship's cargo overboard,

and on the following day they threw part of the ship's equipment overboard.

After everyone had eaten enough, they lightened the ship by throwing all the wheat into the sea.

But all those things that I might count as profit I now reckon as loss for Christ's sake.

Not only those things; I reckon everything as complete loss for the sake of what is so much more valuable, the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have thrown everything away; I consider it all as mere garbage, so that I may gain Christ

It was faith that made Noah hear God's warnings about things in the future that he could not see. He obeyed God and built a boat in which he and his family were saved. As a result, the world was condemned, and Noah received from God the righteousness that comes by faith.
