The priest shall burn all this on the altar as a food offering pleasing to the LORD. All the fat belongs to the LORD.

From this bull he shall take all the fat, the fat on the internal organs,

the kidneys and the fat on them, and the best part of the liver.

All of its fat shall be removed and offered on the altar: the fat tail, the fat covering the internal organs,

the kidneys and the fat on them, and the best part of the liver.

Next, take all the fat which covers the internal organs, the best part of the liver, and the two kidneys with the fat on them, and burn them on the altar as an offering to me.

"Cut away the ram's fat, the fat tail, the fat covering the internal organs, the best part of the liver, the two kidneys with the fat on them, and the right thigh.

The LORD your God will give you and your descendants obedient hearts, so that you will love him with all your heart, and you will continue to live in that land.

They have no understanding, but I find pleasure in your law.

Pay close attention, son, and let my life be your example.

Then he said to me, "Make the minds of these people dull, their ears deaf, and their eyes blind, so that they cannot see or hear or understand. If they did, they might turn to me and be healed."

I will give you a new heart and a new mind. I will take away your stubborn heart of stone and give you an obedient heart.

"As for you, how fortunate you are! Your eyes see and your ears hear.

'These people, says God, honor me with their words, but their heart is really far away from me.

This hope does not disappoint us, for God has poured out his love into our hearts by means of the Holy Spirit, who is God's gift to us.

And we know that our old being has been put to death with Christ on his cross, in order that the power of the sinful self might be destroyed, so that we should no longer be the slaves of sin.
