The few of you who survive in the land of your enemies will waste away because of your own sin and the sin of your ancestors.

You will not go bareheaded or barefoot or mourn or cry. You will waste away because of your sins, and you will groan to one another.

The LORD spoke to me. "Mortal man," he said, "repeat to the Israelites what they are saying: 'We are burdened with our sins and the wrongs we have done. We are wasting away. How can we live?'
