If you are going to treat me like this, have pity on me and kill me, so that I won't have to endure your cruelty any longer."

Elijah walked a whole day into the wilderness. He stopped and sat down in the shade of a tree and wished he would die. "It's too much, LORD," he prayed. "Take away my life; I might as well be dead!"

Why let people go on living in misery? Why give light to those in grief ?

They are not happy till they are dead and buried;

until I would rather be strangled than live in this miserable body.

I give up; I am tired of living. Leave me alone. My life makes no sense.

I am pulled in two directions. I want very much to leave this life and be with Christ, which is a far better thing;

In addition, I have also noticed that in this world you find wickedness where justice and right ought to be.

The power of the LORD came on me with great force, and as his spirit carried me off, I felt bitter and angry.

Why do you make me see such trouble? How can you stand to look on such wrongdoing? Destruction and violence are all around me, and there is fighting and quarreling everywhere.

Then I thought about all that I had done and how hard I had worked doing it, and I realized that it didn't mean a thing. It was like chasing the wind---of no use at all.

You work and worry your way through life, and what do you have to show for it?

It is useless; it is like chasing the wind. It is better to be satisfied with what you have than to be always wanting something else.

Remember how short my life is; remember that you created all of us mortal!
