Wise people will gain an honorable reputation, but stupid people will only add to their own disgrace.

Those who bring trouble on their families will have nothing at the end. Foolish people will always be servants to the wise.

LORD, you are the one who protects me and gives me strength; you help me in times of trouble. Nations will come to you from the ends of the earth and say, "Our ancestors had nothing but false gods, nothing but useless idols.

We will do everything that we said we would. We will offer sacrifices to our goddess, the Queen of Heaven, and we will pour out wine offerings to her, just as we and our ancestors, our king and our leaders, used to do in the towns of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem. Then we had plenty of food, we were prosperous, and had no troubles.

"How terrible for you, teachers of the Law and Pharisees! You hypocrites! You make fine tombs for the prophets and decorate the monuments of those who lived good lives;

So you actually admit that you are the descendants of those who murdered the prophets!

For you know what was paid to set you free from the worthless manner of life handed down by your ancestors. It was not something that can be destroyed, such as silver or gold;

Getting wisdom is the most important thing you can do. Whatever else you get, get insight.

She will be your crowning glory."

Righteousness gives life, but violence takes it away.

The wise leaders will shine with all the brightness of the sky. And those who have taught many people to do what is right will shine like the stars forever."

And now there is waiting for me the victory prize of being put right with God, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on that Day---and not only to me, but to all those who wait with love for him to appear.

And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the glorious crown which will never lose its brightness.
