People don't despise a thief if he steals food when he is hungry;

yet if he is caught, he must pay back seven times more---he must give up everything he has.

The LORD says, "Just as a thief is disgraced when caught, so all you people of Israel will be disgraced---your kings and officials, your priests and prophets.

He said this, not because he cared about the poor, but because he was a thief. He carried the money bag and would help himself from it.

or who steal or are greedy or are drunkards or who slander others or are thieves---none of these will possess God's Kingdom.
