and blow them away like straw in the wind, or like dust carried away in a storm?

But evil people are not like this at all; they are like straw that the wind blows away.

The nations advance like rushing waves, but God reprimands them and they retreat, driven away like dust on a mountainside, like straw in a whirlwind.

The time is coming when the people of Jerusalem will be told that a scorching wind is blowing in from the desert toward them. It will not be a gentle wind that only blows away the chaff---

the wind that comes at the LORD's command will be much stronger than that! It is the LORD himself who is pronouncing judgment on his people.

Burn up a third of it in the city when the siege is over. Take another third and chop it up with your sword as you move around outside the city. Scatter the remaining third to the winds, and I will pursue it with my sword.

They will be carried away as by the wind, and they will be ashamed of their pagan sacrifices.

And so these people will disappear like morning mist, like the dew that vanishes early in the day. They will be like chaff which the wind blows from the threshing place, like smoke from a chimney.

He flew swiftly on his winged creature; he traveled on the wings of the wind.

and built your home on the waters above. You use the clouds as your chariot and ride on the wings of the wind.
