"He is a true prophet," King Jehoshaphat said. So the three kings went to Elisha.

And he sent a messenger to get Elisha. Meanwhile Elisha was at home with some elders who were visiting him. Before the king's messenger arrived, Elisha said to the elders, "That murderer is sending someone to kill me! Now, when he gets here, shut the door and don't let him come in. The king himself will be right behind him."

The descendants of those who oppressed you will come And bow low to show their respect. All who once despised you will worship at your feet. They will call you 'The City of the LORD,' 'Zion, the City of Israel's Holy God.'

The jailer called for a light, rushed in, and fell trembling at the feet of Paul and Silas.

Then he led them out and asked, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?"

But Paul said to the police officers, "We were not found guilty of any crime, yet they whipped us in public---and we are Roman citizens! Then they threw us in prison. And now they want to send us away secretly? Not at all! The Roman officials themselves must come here and let us out."

So they went and apologized to them; then they led them out of the prison and asked them to leave the city.
