"Then you and your sons go into the house, close the door, and start pouring oil into the jars. Set each one aside as soon as it is full."

But when you pray, go to your room, close the door, and pray to your Father, who is unseen. And your Father, who sees what you do in private, will reward you.

But Naaman left in a rage, saying, "I thought that he would at least come out to me, pray to the LORD his God, wave his hand over the diseased spot, and cure me!

Then he prayed, "O LORD, open his eyes and let him see!" The LORD answered his prayer, and Elisha's servant looked up and saw the hillside covered with horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

They took the stone away. Jesus looked up and said, "I thank you, Father, that you listen to me.

I know that you always listen to me, but I say this for the sake of the people here, so that they will believe that you sent me."

Peter put them all out of the room, and knelt down and prayed; then he turned to the body and said, "Tabitha, get up!" She opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter, she sat up.

Are any among you in trouble? They should pray. Are any among you happy? They should sing praises.

This prayer made in faith will heal the sick; the Lord will restore them to health, and the sins they have committed will be forgiven.

Elijah was the same kind of person as we are. He prayed earnestly that there would be no rain, and no rain fell on the land for three and a half years.
